I love Christmas and all the traditions leading up to the blessed day. As a child, tradition was established by getting and decorating a live tree, decorating the house with lights, taking poinsettia plants to the cemetery gravesite of departed family members, sending and receiving Christmas cards, participating in plays at church and loving times with family. Those traditions carried forward to the adult years with our children. Michael and I loved seeing the excitement on the faces of our children as they opened presents Christmas morning. Now they are adults - Adrian and his wife Jess spend Christmas with our Peterson family in Connecticut. Mike and I enjoy time with Erica and our 3 grand children Elijah, Moriah & Isaiah here at home.
This year, however, there is a new tradition that Michael and I can enjoy for years to come. Pre-Christmas celebration at the Gaylord. It is no secret that I love to travel and Michael indulges my desire with trips galore. Our recent 3 day mini retreat at the Gaylord was perfect with a 17th floor room facing the atrium watching the hourly light show each night. We took in the sites and sounds of the holidays on the National Harbor.
Our time away was caped off with dinner at SoBe Restaurant and Lounge in Lanham, MD. While the traditions and trips are nice, there is nothing like having the love of family and friends and celebrating the blessings of life and acknowledging the greatest gift - the birth of Jesus Christ.
It’s Christmas Eve and I wish everyone in my family, my business partners and circle of friends -
A Very Merry Christmas, Love, Peace and Joy Always.
